BuddyPress Activity Plus 1.1 Released with New Features, Including Remote Image Support and User-Defined oEmbed Width

If you haven’t yet checked out our latest BuddyPress plugin, you’ll want to have a look at BuddyPress Activity Plus, which is available for free in the WordPress repository.
BuddyPress Activity Plus provides one of the quickest and most intuitive ways to upload and embed media in BuddyPress. We’ve just released a set of new features and improvements today:
- New Feature: Remote image support.
Essentially, this works like two separate modes for sharing images:
Upload images cancels out remote image embedding, and vice versa. - Remote url input width improvements
- New Feature: Added support for user-defined oEmbed width
The default width is 450px, but if you want to change it you can now add a define directive in wp-config.php (e.g. define(‘BPFB_OEMBED_WIDTH’, 250, true);). - New Feature: Added “no thumbnail” option for link sharing.
As you can see, we’re dedicated to improving the BuddyPress Activity Plus plugin and will continue to add new features. What’s on your wishlist? Please feel free to post ideas in the comments.
