Get Yourself a Delectable Chrome Extension for WordPress

The past few weeks have seen the launch of FireFox 4 – which has finally nudged me into being 100% Chrome. It’s sad to say goodbye to what has been a beautiful relationship but sometimes you have to just let go…..

But reading this over at WP Tavern cheered me up considerably. I like it when things that I like can be friends. I like Chrome, and I like WordPress. Richard, at iamfriendly.com, has developed a Chrome extension which lets you send links straight to your WordPress blog. Yes – that’s right, like delicious, but delectable. And it is remarkably simple to use.

1. Install and set up the extension.

2. Make sure XML-RPC publishing protocols are enabled. You can do this at Settings>Writing:

3. Go to the site that you want to tag, click on the little WordPress symbol at the top right of your browser and fill it in:

And your link should appear as a post!

That is a pretty sweet trick.

It would be even sweeter if you could add text to the post as well. That way you could write a little something about the link before sending it live to your blog. Very cool.
