Daily Tip: Add a Google Street View Map to WordPress Posts Using Custom Fields

August 6, 2011

Do you have a WordPress site where it might be useful to display a Google street view map directly within a post? Messing with Google embed code can be tedious and time consuming. That’s why I’d like to feature a plugin that makes this process very easy.

The Google Street View Map Custom Field plugin is new to the repository. It takes an address inputted into a custom field and transforms it into a Google street view map for display at the bottom of your post.

The admin panel allows you to configure the map width, height, and name of the custom field.

Here’s an example of what it will look like in a post:

Pretty simple, isn’t it? Download the Google Street View Map Custom Field plugin for free from the WordPress plugin repository.

Because this plugin/widget is provided free of charge, I simply ask you to link back to Pressography.com in a post on your blog, or from one of your sites. It doesn't need to be anything fancy - just a note saying that you're using it, and whether or not you like it. However, there is no requirement that you do this, you're free to use the plugin regardless.
