Featured WordPress Theme: Chromey

Chromey is a free Thematic Child Theme from Tolu Sonaike that incorporates many design elements including gradient, textures, noise, and high contract images. Based on the Thematic Featured Page child them, it’s a child theme that looks entirely different from Thematic while keeping all of its great features.

Our Mini Review
This is a lovely child theme which demonstrates how you can take a theme framework and create something that looks totally different. To set it up you need to use the “Featured Page” template (which is installed with the theme) on your homepage – it’s as simple as that. My only issue with it is that the navigation bar at the top only has room for about 7 or 8 navigation buttons. You’ll need to exclude some of your pages – for this I use the WordPress Exclude Pages Plugin.
