Daily Tip: Remove the WordPress Version From Your Header

Removing the WordPress version from your header is something that can help to make your site more secure. There’s no need for you to be advertising your version number in your source code. Here’s how you can remove it yourself. Add this to your theme’s functions.php file:
remove_action('wp_head', 'wp_generator');
Or, if you’d rather install a plugin, check out WP Remove WordPress Generator Meta Tag. It’s a simple plugin that will automatically remove the WordPress version from your header. You can check by clicking “view source” on your site after installing the plugin.
Because this plugin/widget is provided free of charge, I simply ask you to link back to Pressography.com in a post on your blog, or from one of your sites. It doesn't need to be anything fancy - just a note saying that you're using it, and whether or not you like it.
